YES, I COUNTED AIRPORT LAYOVERS

And I counted Alaska, even though I only got close enough to see the Aleutian Islands from the fantail of the Enterprise.

Looking over the map, I can't help but notice that pretty much ALL of that green is courtesy of the US Navy, although sometimes indirectly - like taking a Greyhound from Wisconsin to San Diego to visit a friend of mine who enlisted in the Navy shortly before I did.

1 Oh, and "China" was only chosen because "Hong Kong" isn't on the list (it was still under British lease when I visited), and I've also been to the US Virgin Islands, but that's not on the list at all.

5 Except for Mexico I've done all my international traveling curtesy of my rich Uncle Samuel, too. Oddly, though, except for Hawaii, he never sent me anywhere in the USA that I had not been before. I would have liked to have seen Europe back then but it seems that LBJ and Nixon didn't need any Europeans killed. Damned shame if you asked me, which nobody did.

6 The only foreign country I've been to was Canada. But I've been to all 48 of the continuous states.

7 I can thank Uncle Sam for Korea and Japan and Alaska (if we are including layovers). I only hit 3%, but I figured out I was only missing about 10 states. Unfortunately that includes Hawaii, not unfortunately that also inlcudes Idaho, not that I don't love potatoes, but really, its Idaho.
