FOR A WHILE THERE, I DIDN'T THINK I'D GET MY 50 HOURS IN THIS WEEK - UPDATED 11PM

That's right. 50 freakin' hours at work during this 4-day week.

Looks like the trend may continue for a while, so weekends will probably be the only times I can keep in touch.

If you don't hear from me Monday thru Friday, don't take it personally.

UPDATE 11PM - I'd like to clarify that I'm not complaining. The fact is, my supervisor puts in at least an hour more per day than I do, and sometimes more.

Not only does he have the same 45 minute (one way) commute time I do, and he has a wife like I do, he also has a kid like I don't.

Makes it really hard to feel sorry for myself when I'm watching the guy work his guts out like that.

If he's not gonna whine about it, I'm not gonna either.

1 Welcome to my world for the last decade or so. Now try it on 4 or less hours of sleep a night.

2 Please tell me you're not on salary!

3 I'm with Susie. Not salary I hope. Pan is and he works 50-60 hour weeks. Burns me up.

4 Nope, I'm hourly. I didn't know it was possible to put that many digits on a paycheck :-)

5 Well the pay check should be nice. Maybe now we can actually get you out with us one night for some fun... well as much fun as I'm allowed to have anymore.

6 Do you get overtime after 40 hours? My husband works 60+ hours a week on salary... it's a nice salary, but there it is. His job requires it (always has - even at the last job where the minimum expectation was 50 hours a week), and we have the joy of late evening conference calls to Japan to make life even more fun. Plus he just got some extra work - which is good... but I'm guessing dinner will start being even later in the evening than 8pm. Heh. I'm not complaining either - he's working and he really does need to work! While I loved having him home for nearly 2 years with the last layoff - that did nothing for his state of mind. :-) Busy beats the alternative.

7 Mwhahahahah! Soon you will fall into the OT trap... Where suddenly working only 40 hours a week is a "short" check
