The Muppet Show episode at least wasn't anywhere near as bad as the Holiday Special.

Mostly true... but I think the "Chewie dancing with R2D2" sequence in part 3 rivals the introduction of Jar-Jar as the low point of the franchise.

I don't know... I'd have to say the ballad by Leia was pretty rough as well. That's why Lucas wants to keep this hidden.
However, as to the Muppet Show, I still remember this episode quite well, except I notice they never brought back Angus McGonnegal, the Argyle Gargoyle. I bet Eric knew him.
