NIGHT OFF

Spent the evening curled up in front of the TV with Beloved Wife, watching some of the shows we taped when we were out of town.

Stray thought... based on what happened to Firefly, I'm guessing Battlestar Galactica is going to get cancelled in about 6 more episodes. This show is WAY too good for TV.

Ok, here's something for you to think about:

If a woman sees another woman wearing tight pants, she thinks, "How does she get into those?"

If a man sees a woman wearing tight pants, he thinks, "How can *I* get into those?"

1 Excellent illustration of the difference between the genders...

2 I love the remake of Battlestar Galactica! No more Dukes of Hazzard in Space! I guess it just reflects how much darker we've all become in 20 years. If you look at the original compared to this one...whoa. Now if only Star Trek could cure their cranialrectalitis, then I'll be one happy meathead.

3 It's funny your brought up Firefly. I borrowed the first season on DVD from Graumagus and have been like a junky watching it for the last couple of days. I missed it on it's first run, Back then I had a life on Friday nights. I'm kinda pissed they canceled this show as it's absolutly great.

4 The good thing that BG has in it's favor is that it's not on FOX. FOX screwed up the promotional stuff for Firefly badly, then kept switching it's time slot practically from week to week, it was doomed from the start. Sci-Fi listens to it's fans a bit more (even though they canceled Farscape, they're doing a made for tv movie continuation because of fan support). Personally I'm not a big fan of Farscape (missed the beginning of the series and I don't know WTF is going on half the time). BG is rolling strong, I see it sticking around for at least another season.

5 Silent Warrior, I'm still trying to sell my ideas to Paramount for a Klingon based crime drama- "Law and Order: Honor Killings Unit" and "CSI: Qo'noS". All joking aside, I think a whole show from a Klingon point of view would be pretty goddamn cool: you have all kinds of backstabbing intrigue, violence, drama, violence, and people eating worms. Toss in a slutty Romulan hottie as an evil mastermind and there you go. Blood, Drama, T&A, and people eating nasty shit, it's guaranteed ratings dynamite!

6 Good news! Battlestar Galactica has been renewed for a 2nd season! 20 episodes, I believe. Oh, and a Klingon based Trek series would be great. Some of the best episodes of DS9 were the ones set on Klingon ships.

7 Hah! Grau, you're friggin awesome! But I gotta disagree with you on the Klingon show thing. Yeah it'd be cool for a couple of episodes, but then it'd kinda run outta steam. Granted, Enterprise isn't a gem either. I'm waiting for the captain to hit his communicator and have it squeal. Or have him look in a mirror and be a fat black lady. Don't even get me started on that tree-hugging happy-peppy crap they call a theme song. Come to think of it...fuggit, let's do CSI: Qo'noS. Kaplaa BABY!!

8 Grau - Farscape. Good production values but the scripts had a LOT of continuity holes. Even when you watched regularly, it was hard to keep track of what was going on because the scripts weren't tightly written. Might be better on DVD, since you don't have to try to remember details from one week to the next. Mike - YAY! SW - Yeah, I had troubles getting past his "Quantum Leap" persona, too. Having seen him in that show, it was hard to visualize him having the stones to command a starship.

9 I fer one am glad Enterprise is going away, there was just to much pull it out of your ass script writing going on there, the last dying gasp of an OVER MILKED cash cow. just let it die with some dignity, if thats possible anymore. Now Battlestar I still have hopes for, but someone PLEASE through baltar out the FRACKIN' airlock!! OH, and PLEASE not the obvious Starbuck gets secertly hooked on pain killers routine either, I can only hope

10 FARSCAPE - COOL! ENTERPRISE - "Ick factor" (for those of you who don't understand that...oh, yeah, you weren't at the family reunion) I had high hopes for Enterprise because I loved Star Trek and I loved Quantum Leap. The entire show and all of its writing sucks! I can't believe it made it past the first season. BG - AWESOME!
