ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT AOL?

Besides that it sucks, I mean.

Blogson Peter of Shakey Pete's Shootin' Shack is having trouble getting pictures to upload to ImageShack and putting them on his blog - probably because he uses AOL. I could write a detailed tutorial on how to do it from a normal internet connection, but I have NO idea how AOL is different - I never used it.

Anyone have a clue who would be willing to try to walk Peter through it?

1 Harv- Tell Peter to try bypassing AOL: Connect as usual, then minimize the AOL window, and open up Internet Explorer from the blue "e" on the desktop or in the launch bar. Use that to sign on to your blog, and try to upload. (He could also at some point download Mozilla's Firefox, and use that over AOL... (You only need AOL for the connection--you can use any browser or e-mail app you want once you're connected.)

2 Having never used AOL already makes your IQ jump 50 points. (sorry Pete)

3 Sissy, I agree wholeheartedly that AOL sucks. Trouble is, y'all have no concept of what is available out here in rural Texas. Sure, I COULD get connected with a far better ISP. All I'd have to do would be to pay long distance phone charges. There is no cable internet, there is no DSL.There is a satellite service that had me all excited. I signed up for it thinking I would finally get something faster than 26,400 KPS advertised with an actual download speed of around 3.2 KPS until we discovered the hill between us and the repeater. On the other hand, I have no idea of the kind of music my neighbors listen to. Three or four days of every week, no, that's zero, less than one, cars drive by our house. Dustbunny, thanks but I already use Firefox for everything connected with my Blog. It's something to do with the way we move pictures from the scanner or camera to the hard drive to the ISP. I can E-mail pictures just fine, it is getting them into Image Shack that has proven impossible. Our lovely and talented and very computer-savvy daughter and engineer son-in-law have also tried and come up blank. And their website is littered with pictures of our world-class grandson.
