AND THE WINNER IS

Polling for the new blogchild is closed, and the winner is:

(see extended entry) Jeff of Au Fait.

Final scoring results are as follows:

Jeff - 35%
Anita of Fighting Inertia - 27%
An Inanimate Carbon Rod - 23%
Wacky Hermit of Organic Baby Farm - 15%

Congratulations, Jeff. Expect me to drop by regularly and make fun of you.

Meanwhile you are encouraged to engage in the following optional activities:

1) Choose a Bad Example Family Member banner from this post to display on your sidebar.

2) Blogroll your siblings & nieces & in-law. Regular visitation of same has been found to cause cancer in laboratory animals, but you're an adult, so I can't stop you from making your own decisions.

To Anita & Wacky Hermit, I would like to thank you for being good sports & playing along with this bit of silliness. Both of you are delightfully charming and would've made great blogchildren.

To the inanimate carbon rod - just because you didn't come in last, you bad joke of a throwaway line, don't get cocky. All that means is that a LOT of my readers have a really cruel, sick sense of humor.

The rest of the blogfamily - please update your family blogrolls, and stop by to make Jeff feel welcome.

By which I mean... well... use your imaginations on that one. MUAHAHAHAHAHA! ;-)

1 Congratulations, Jeff! I'm off to sulk now . . .

2 I'm going to sue on behalf of the inanimate carbon rod. There were other types of rods (steel, iron, aluminum) that were disenfranchised and not allowed to vote. In fact, I have eyewitness accounts of agents of Jeff turning away two specific wooden dowels, and I'm sure there have been many, many more. Other inanimate rods were unable to move (being inanimate), and were therefore illegally prevented from voting. The final results of this election can only be settled by the courts!

3 Uhmmmm... I'm suddenly reminded of the famous warning, "Be careful what you wish for..." Anita: Since I got adopted, that means any long-lost bio relatives would sorta be a member, too... Would you settle for the consolation prize title of "the orphan kid's brother-in-law's second cousin"? Ogre: The two wooden dowels you mentioned were convicted felons (they were convicted of serial bath towel hangings). In their state of residence, they lose their right to vote for ten years, barring a gubenatorial pardon.

4 Hey, Jeff - - I'll settle for anything (especially if there might be a link involved!). Hugs and Kisses from your long lost cousin, Anita

5 Anita I'm linking you still!

6 Thank you Boudicca!!! That's a very nice consolation prize

7 Ogre - go ahead and stick up for other inanimate cylindrical objects if you want, but if they never did guest shots on the Simpsons, then they're off my radar :-P

8 I cannot sit idly by while this election is stolen by Au Fait. The Inanimate Carbon rod is the rightful winner of the election and an army of lawyers will be decending on everyone involved in the election soon! I implore all members of the blog family to ignore Jeff and do not acknowledge him as a member of the family because he stole this election. I encourage all blog family members to link to and support the inanimate carbon rod as the true new family member, as the votes, when recounted the 234th time, will show. (Ok, is the horse dead yet?)
