TODAY'S LOVE NOTE
(
Introduction)
Maybe a guy could fall instantly in love, but I doubt it. I think love creeps over you like a warm feeling on a clear blue fall day. This person is in your thoughts most of the time - all of the time, actually. You see her when you close your eyes, when you look off into the distance, when you pause from what you are doing and take a deep breath. You remember how her fingers felt when they touched you. The loved one becomes a part of you, the most important part. At least it's that way with me when I think of you.

TODAY'S LOVE NOTE
(
Introduction)
I want to hold you in my arms, gently
Beyond sex and security, prestige and triumph,
To say once and for all, "I love you", and mean it
From the top of my head to the depths of my soul
This is the love that casts out fear
That makes life worth living
That takes a man and a woman on the earth and lifts them finally
Above every power or pain that could wound them
I have seen so many sights, heard so many words
But none as beautiful
As the sight and sound of a man and woman
Who say with their every act
Their eyes and all their being
"I LOVE YOU!"

Um... aren't you, by definition, saying that you aren't a man? I mean, you're saying "no man" not "no other man."
Like in Return of the King, with that whole "No man can kill me spiel of the Witch King. And so the person who kills him is a woman.
I'm just sayin'...

All through the night I'll be watching over you.
And through bad dreams, I'll be right there.

You were never anything less than beautiful.
So don't you worry.

TODAY'S LOVE NOTE
Today's love note is that I love YOU, my dear readers, who
so kindly watched over my blog while I was away.
Turned out the cable modem got fried by lightning (thunderstorm in winter - gotta love Wisconsin) and was easily replaced.
I'm back up, and should be caught up sometime Sunday.
Again, thank you.
You guys are the best ;-)

Actually, I just RENT the cable modem, so it got replaced for free.
I *did* once have a phone modem get taken out by lighting about 7 years ago. Fried the motherboard.
But at least it made a good excuse to upgrade :-)

TODAY'S LOVE NOTE
(
Introduction)
(Today's note was cribbed from Pavel Bloviates)
Mostly, though, my marriage has been about getting tossed around in life's surf, holding on to each other for dear life. You hold on even when the other one lets go, and then they hold on when you let go. You scream to be heard above the storm, and the rain cuts into your face, and the monstrous grey waves carry you up and crash you back down, and you come up gasping and choking over and over. And it all looks grey and hopeless sometimes but you still hold on and hold on. Then finally, the wind recedes a little and you realize that the storm is passing.
And you can finally look at each other and laugh at how very hard it all is and about how we have become so very good at swimming. You can finally loosen your grip, and the sunlight illuminates a million stars on the water. Five fishes swim by, all brilliant colors never before seen in this world, and you know their fingerlings cannot be far off.
You float on your back, and hold hands in the calm, warm sea that your marriage has become, and I say to her, if I hadn't had you to hold on to, I would surely have drowned, my love, I would surely have drowned.
