First post - sucks, but it DOES use the word "conundrums". Looks like he'll be getting along well with Cousin Sissy and her "word of the week"

Lies about adding Haloscan - better run that auto-install code again. You can re-display Blogger comments later.

Some nefarious plot to destroy the world with balloons... or something... I just skimmed that post.

Has a soft spot for old people, which is gonna make it harder to destroy the world.

Faces the age-old question - work hard, slow down, or look for another job? Answer appears to be D) A and C.

BOOTCAMP BLOGSON COMING HOME SOON

Blogson Jeff of Oh-Dark-Thirty graduates Army Boot Camp this Friday.

He was hoping his comment party would have 1000 comments - not gonna make it.

However, the record for a comment party is only 314, and Jeff is at 290 or so.

One last push as the deadline approaches. At this point, you don't even have to know WTF is going on. Just stop by & leave some random crap.

It's all about quantity, not quality.

AN EARLY FATHER'S DAY PRESENT

Blogson Andrew of Custos Honor (who's leaving for boot camp on Monday, so say your good-byes now) took it upon himself to make an illustrated version of the Bad Example Family Tree, which I've used to update the Family Tree post.

Quite an ingenious design.

Meanwhile, a reminder that June 19th is Father's Day, and June 21st is my 2 year blogiversary.

This year I want...

Blogdaughter Boudicca of Boudicca's Voice turned 1 year old yesterday, and she relates the tale of her coming to be with her typical style and grace.

For my part, all I'll say is that getting Bou to start blogging was like delivering a 12-pound baby after 36 hours of labor without an epidural.

i.e. Agonizing, but worth it.

Although I'm still unhappy about the mess she made of my girlish figure... :-(

NEW BOOT CAMP LETTER FROM BLOGSON JEFF

Happy Hand Grenades! Oh, wait. ThatÂ’s this Tuesday. Boom! Welcome to week 6 of BCT. Tomorrow starts a two-night field exercise including a 10k road march home on Wednesday. Good stuff. IÂ’ve received letters from some of you (I appreciate them so much - especially the French jokes!) Thanks to the blogiverse for keeping me updated and thinking of me. I want to apologize for not being able to write you all back, but hereÂ’s an indicator of howmuch time I have free: In the 7 weeks since I left, I have made 2 phone calls for a total of 9 minutes. When I say IÂ’m busy, I ainÂ’t kidding.

ThereÂ’s only 26 days left (his letter is dated June 5th) till graduation. ItÂ’s almost over!!! We get our class AÂ’s and our hi-speed PTs on the 15th, our final PT test is on the 17th, and free day away is coming up. After that itÂ’s just the 15k road march in our way.

Before I forget - could someone send an article with pics abour the new Army BDUs? WeÂ’re highly anticipating them here in Falcons Barracks.

WeÂ’ve done some cool stuff. Rifle qualificaiton, Night fire with traces, rappelling, obstacle courses out the wazooÂ…oh hey, while IÂ’m at it let me show you my PT improvement:

PT Test one: ============= PT Test Two:
1 min pushups - 14 ========= 2 min pushups - 35
1 min situps — 33 ========= 2 min situps - 57
1 mile run —– 9:36 ======== 2 mile run - 15:04

I think IÂ’ve improved quite a bit. For airborne, though, IÂ’m going to have to be able to run 5 miles at a 7 minute mile pace. Better get crackinÂ’, huh?

Anyway, keep the letters coming. (though I wouldnÂ’t send any after June 23rd). I miss the blogiverse and wish all of you the best luck and health. Keep on truckin!
